Ode To My Tutor - Meg Eman, June 1992

Created by Karen 3 years ago

As alchemists in times long past
Did cheap base metal take
To try to change it into gold
John took a step in faith right bold
Meg’s unschooled brain to wake.

We wrestled with The Prophets
“Did” the Bible in two weeks
Explored Creation, Fall and Grace,
All at a really cracking pace,
As wisdom we did seek.

Trial services, assignments, prayers,
Took many hours of toil,
As deadlines loomed, exam-times came,
We laboured on in sun and rain
And burned much midnight oil.

At last we reached that final stage
When all the votes are cast.
The Preachers met and said “She’ll do
We’re satisfied her call was true”.
All hurdles now are passed.

And so dear John, my love and thanks
For all you’ve done (and do)
For all those happy inspired times
We spent exploring Bible climes
To find God’s message true.
