I still look back with great fondness to my time in Wiltshire from 1987 to 1991. I moved there not knowing anyone and Sheila and John's kindness, fellowship and support helped me to settle in as I got used to living away from home and settled into my first teaching job. In fact, I often referred to them as my second Mum and Dad, and I know that my own parents really appreciated the support they gave me in so many ways. I also remember the musicals that we put on at church under John's directorship - they were great fun as well as being inspiring times of fellowship due to his enthusiasm and commitment to using them to help spread the Gospel. I know how much he enjoyed preaching which demonstrated his strong faith which also underpinned everything else he did. Although I had not seen John recently, I still feel the gap left by his passing but take comfort from the memories I have to look back on.
